Things That Should Not Be Forgotten

I've noticed these past couple of weeks that I forget to do the most basic things. Upon becoming a mother of 2, you forget that you exist sometimes. Everything revolves around my family so when I have to wake up in the morning and get two little people up, ready, fed, changed, and packed for the day, I forget to do basic things for myself. Here is the list of things I have forgotten to do at least once in the last two weeks:

I forgot to apply deodorant (got a whiff of my under arm while reaching for something in my mailbox at work)

I forgot to eat (wondered why I felt light headed at 6:00 p.m. and realized I hadn't fed myself all day)

I forgot to brush my teeth

I forgot to put my laundry in the dryer and had to wear mildew smelling clothes

I forgot to pee (I had really bad stomach cramps late in the afternoon after being out with the kids all day...couldn't remember the last time I emptied my bladder. Who wants to take 2 kids into a public restroom stall.)

I hope that I am not the only one. If you have forgotten to do any of these things on a regular basis because of mommyhood, please let me know in the comment section so that I don't feel so bad.

And yes, I must comment on this one as well. Are you kidding me? I am right with you on all of the above! Whew...this blogging stuff sure does help me feel normal!

Yes, to all listed items and countless more to add.

Left my flip flops on, not the shoes to go out in

Snacks for me for long days out

What I had to return at the store and/or the list of what I needed to buy (the one that I had been working on most of the morning)

My briefcase with EVERYTHING that I need to have a productive day at work

Once, rushing home to drop of registration paperwork for my son's school, I left my purse at the office. Yes, I managed to leave the office with keys, cell phone and no purse!

Left the diapers and luckily found some tucked away in the car (I say, divine intervention)

Etc, etc, etc!

Yes... I have forgotten to do those things multiple times because of my son.

Am I going to make myself sound bad if I say that I have not only forgotten to do some of these things (and more) but have also made the conscious decision not to do them because its when you finally find that moment to sit down and relax for a second that you remember what you've forgotten and why you shouldnt be sitting there relaxing. So you decide, no, I'm not going to do that right now.. I'm going to enjoy this moment of peace (or moment to blog :) ).

I have forgotten all of those things as well. I carry an extra deoderant in the diaper bag (or my purse). Every week I have to wash at least one load of clothes twice because I forgot about it for so long.

I have forgotten to put make up on, forgotten to close the garage door when I left home, and I have forgotten my wallet or ATM card at home a two times in the last few months. I had to leave the grocery store and michaels to go home and get my wallet so I could pay for my items!!!

I hope you feel better now.
